New Etsy Release – Inspired by Annette Himstedt Dolls

This post introduces a new Etsy printable collection inspired by the Atlantis Children dolls created by renowned German doll artist Annette Himstedt. Drawing on the dreamlike beauty, gentle expressions, and storytelling spirit of the original dolls, the collection offers whimsical digital papers, journal pages, stickers, and vintage-style elements designed for junk journaling and creative play. Created as an artistic tribute rather than a replica, the printables reflect the moods, textures, and quiet magic of the Atlantis series while supporting the ongoing care, preservation, and operation of the My Doll Cottage private museum in Western Australia.

Whimsical printables inspired by some of the most enchanting dolls in our museum collection.

We’re proud to share the latest addition to our Etsy store — a printable art collection inspired by the ethereal beauty of the Atlantis Children dolls by renowned German doll artist Annette Himstedt.

Known for their expressive faces, life like features, and dream like presence, the Atlantis Children have long held a special place in our hearts — and in our museum collection. This new range of digital downloads captures the soft innocence and worldly wonder of those beloved dolls in a way that’s perfect for crafters, journalers, and lovers of nostalgic childhood magic.

A Tribute to Annette Himstedt’s Vision

The Atlantis Children collection (2003–2005) by Annette Himstedt is a masterpiece of storytelling through sculpture. Each doll was imagined as a child from a fictional land, rooted in nature, fantasy, and cultural diversity.

Their delicate faces, glass eyes, hand-rooted hair, and finely made garments evoke a feeling of other worldly calm — as if they stepped out of a dream.

Our printable release brings that same energy to paper, with illustrated scenes and stationery sets inspired by the moods, colours, and textures of the original dolls.

These are not replicas, but imaginative interpretations designed with gentle tones, soft backgrounds, and antique-style artwork for journaling and creative use.

The Dolls That Inspired the Collection

At My Doll Cottage, we are lucky enough to hold over 100 Annette Himstedt dolls, including from the Atlantis series, displayed along side other artist and collector dolls.

Their presence in the museum has captured the attention of visitors young and old —and inspired us to create a printable series that could bring their spirit into everyday creative use.

You can see glimpses of the Himstedt dolls in our YouTube walkthrough, and we’ll be posting close-up photos on our socials soon.
